Located in downtown Kansas City in the Power & Light District, the original Midland Theatre opened in 1927 and has hosted well-known artists throughout its history. Under the new name, Arvest Bank Theatre at The Midland, the venue will continue that tradition and is projected to host more than 125 concerts, family shows, awards shows, corporate and charitable events each year. The venue officially becomes the Arvest Bank Theatre at The Midland on Friday, September 13, 2013, for the Jim Breuer performance.
In 2007, AEG Live and The Cordish Company formed a partnership to undertake a multi-million dollar renovation of the historic venue. Since its re-opening in late 2008, the AEG Live-managed Midland Theatre has hosted more than 600 events, welcomed 500,000+ guests, and has become a “must play” venue for touring artists every year.
